Your horse's Myler level depends on its temperament and experience. The Myler system includes different levels, meaning your horse earns its tongue relief step by step. The higher the Myler level, the more tongue relief the respective mouthpieces offer and the less they act on the tongue. If your horse resists the bit, use a softer bit, not a harsher one.
- Basic training, has a good temperament and good self-control, can handle more tongue relief.
- Advanced training, but with a challenging temperament - anxious, aggressive or insecure.
- Is currently ridden with a Level 2 mouthpiece and shows resistance.Myler mouthpieces correspond in construction and design to the Myler level, which in turn reflects the horse's behavior and experience. The different mouthpieces are available from Level 1. These have the strongest effect on the tongue. Level 3 mouthpieces have the least effect on the tongue and offer the most tongue relief. Most horses can skip Level 1, and there is absolutely a possibility that your horse begins its training with the Myler system at Level 2, 2-3, or even 3.
This mouthpiece is characterized as follows:- Curved and offers more tongue relief than Level 1 or 2.
- Correction mouthpieces act slightly on the tongue. Weymouth bits exert little pressure on the tongue.
- Acts more on the bars, poll, and chin than Level 1 or 2.
- Is curved and thus creates more space for the tongue.
- Options with and without ISM*. (independent side movement)
