But the true jewel of these bits lies in their unique property: Sweet Iron reacts to (air) humidity, forming a sweet-tasting surface rust layer and naturally stimulating saliva production. This leads to the horse salivating more and eagerly accepting the bit.
The Pump Curb bit, used in conjunction with a bradoon, in a double bridle, is a preferred bit in higher dressage levels. The pump mechanism creates a gentle movement in the bit, allowing the horse to regulate the pressure on its tongue. With longer shanks, the Pump Curb bit is a stronger bit compared to the Baby Pump Curb bit and therefore requires experienced handling.
The straight bar bit with medium tongue relief offers a comfortable solution for horses with sensitive tongues or those that tend to stick their tongues out. The tongue relief creates space and reduces pressure on the center of the tongue, ensuring a pleasant riding experience. This bit also requires an experienced hand and is therefore less suitable for inexperienced riders.
