Vegetable oils provide pure energy, which is used in the feeding of sport and leisure horses to enhance the energy content of the ration and to reduce the proportion of concentrated feed (starch) in case of sensitivity. In addition, feeding oil can increase the energy density in the ration and thus simultaneously reduce protein supply, which is often a very sensible nutritional balance in rations rich in concentrated feed. If oils are fed as an energy source, plant oils with a high content of the polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, also known as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, are particularly useful. This is because a high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids can promote the body's own production of anti-inflammatory tissue hormones, which benefits overall vitality. In LEXA Energy-Power-Liquid, we therefore combine a high proportion of linseed oil with the natural vegetable oils sunflower oil, safflower oil, and corn germ oil. Energy-Power-Liquid is enriched with valuable perilla oil, which is characterized by its high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids. To support the sensitive intestinal tract, LEXA Energy-Power-Liquid also contains fennel oil, caraway oil, and aniseed oil.
