Inno Sense bits are versatile and particularly well-suited for young horses or those with sensitive mouths. The synthetic material used has been FDA approved as harmless, meaning it contains no plasticizers and is safe for both humans and animals. Thanks to the use of a stainless steel core, Inno Sense bits are particularly durable. The Inno Sense Mullen is a mouthpiece with a straight bar that bends slightly forward. It is made of synthetic material with a rigid core that does not make the mouthpiece flexible, while the surrounding material gives the bit a soft feel.
Another variant is the side piece, which is a combination of a hackamore and a bit. This hackamore combination applies pressure to the nose, chin, poll, and in the mouth, and has a leverage effect. The longer the shanks of the hackamore, the stronger the effect. Models with shorter shanks have a milder effect than those with longer shanks and are often used for very enthusiastic horses in show jumping. Due to the leverage effect, this bit is quite sharp and therefore not suitable for inexperienced riders.
