A remarkable addition to the TRUST equestrian range are the leather bits, handcrafted in the Netherlands. Their core is made of reinforced nylon to ensure stability. The leather stitched around the core is naturally tanned without the use of chemicals. Salivation softens the leather bit, making it more comfortable for the horse. Due to the flexible action combined with the taste of the leather, these bits are particularly suitable for horses with sensitive mouths. It is recommended to regularly treat the leather bit with olive oil to keep it supple. The seam of the leather bit should face forward, i.e., in the direction of riding, when placed in the horse's mouth.
A Curb Gag is similar to a gag bit, but it applies pressure to the lower jaw rather than the poll. The cord runs under the chin, and the cheekpieces are attached to the additional ring at the top. This bit is particularly effective for strong, hot horses and is mainly used by show jumpers. However, this bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
