TRUST equestrian's Sweet Iron bits are known for their high quality and their natural effect on the horse's mouth. Made of iron, they develop surface rust due to moisture, which tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. This helps the horse to foam more and accept the bit better.
A double-jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece that applies pressure to the tongue, bars, and corners of the mouth. It has two hinges, is shaped towards the mouth, and sits a little looser in the mouth. Compared to a single-jointed mouthpiece, this bit applies more pressure to the tongue. Nevertheless, caution should be exercised with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points could press on the bars, which can lead to injuries.
The Full Cheek Snaffle, another popular cheekpiece, has long shanks with a fixed ring for attaching the reins. This shape allows more pressure to be applied to the horse's cheeks, making steering easier and preventing the bit from being pulled through the mouth as easily. It is particularly well suited for young or very spirited horses that have problems with flexion and bending. The straight parts of the cheekpiece are slightly curved outwards to prevent injuries.
