Sweet Iron bits are made of iron and have a characteristic blue color. Through contact with moisture, they develop surface rust that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates saliva production. This causes the horse to foam more and accept the bit better.

A double-jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece that has two hinges and is more shaped towards the mouth. It sits a little looser in the mouth and exerts pressure on the tongue, bars, and corners of the mouth. Caution is advised with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue.

The gag bit encourages the horse to raise its head and is often used with horses that go behind the bit. When taking up the reins, the mouthpiece slides upwards, causing the horse to feel pressure in the corners of the mouth and poll. The bit can be used with one or two reins or with Pelham straps. Most often, it is used with two reins, with one attached to the bit and the other rein attached to one of the lower rings or to the end of the gag ropes. This way, the rider can only use the gag action when it is truly necessary. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
